Hailing from the Philadelphia Suburbs, Ian’s main exposure to the outdoors came from canoe camping in the Pine Barrens with his father. Ironically, it took moving into the city to attend Drexel University to spark his love of the outdoors. A few trips to the university’s rock wall and he was hooked. Soon, Ian was running trips for Drexel’s climbing and outdoors clubs, where he was president and treasurer, respectively. In his second life, Ian is finishing his master’s degree in mechanical engineering while working in the controls group at Kulicke and Soffa, Inc. He is always trying to hone his skills, and is more likely to be found building anchors than doing homework.
Fun Fact: Ian is lousy at skipping stones, a fact which haunts him daily.
