Devils Pulpit and Pinnacle Hike
Among the two best vistas in PA, hike 8.7 hard miles of the Appalachian Trail and connector trails located in the Lehigh Gap to Devil’s Pulpit and the Pinnacle, two distinctive rock formations. Segments of the trails are very rocky, requiring supportive foot ware and making the hike challenging, but rewarding. Around a 1,300 ft elevation gain throughout the hike, we tackle the most difficult part first as we scramble to the Pulpit lookout and then onto the Pinnacle for more breathtaking expansive views. For the last 4 miles we will enjoy a nice hike along an old woods road and descend through a hemlock and rhododendron filled hollow through which Furnace Creek flows.
